BI Data Export: Overview

Updated today

The LiftEd Business Intelligence Data Export delivers your complete LiftEd data via SFTP, enabling you to slice, pivot, and analyze it however you need—uncovering deeper insights into staff performance and student observations.

Getting Started

  1. Contact your District Success Manager to provision your district for the BI Data Export.

    1. You will need to provide the names and email addresses of the staff who will pull the data from LiftEd.

  2. The staff members you designated in step 1 will receive secure S3 or SFTP credentials and connection details

  3. LiftEd will execute a nightly data export of the files listed below and they will be placed in your district’s private, access-controlled directory.

Data Export Details

Frequency

  1. Data files are generated nightly (once every 24 hours).

  2. Each nightly export includes diffs — i.e., updated records since the previous day.

Format

  1. Each file name includes the dataset name and a timestamp indicating when the export was created.

    1. Eg: student_20251027_080000.csv (This means the Students dataset was exported on October 27, 2025, at 08:00:00 AM)

  2. Each dataset is exported as a pipe-delimited CSV file (|).

  3. One CSV file per dataset, per district.

  4. The first row contains column headers.

  5. Columns with multiple values (e.g., multiple IDs) will show them as semicolon-separated (;).

Data Scope

  • Each file is a diff file -it includes only records that changed since the last export

  • The first export will have all the data at that point in time, and each subsequent export will include only records that changed from the previous export
