How To: Manage Location Settings in the District Library

District administrators, BCBAs, and principals can configure the locations that appear when teachers and BCBAs set up behaviors and record ABC observations. Locations identify the environments where behaviors occur, such as classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, or specialized spaces. These defaults help teams capture environmental context and identify patterns tied to specific settings.

Add a Location

  1. Select + Add New on the Locations tab.

  2. Enter the name of the location you want to add to your district defaults.

  3. Click Save.

It will immediately appear in the location dropdown when teachers set up behaviors and record ABC data.

Edit a Location

  1. Open the ellipses menu on any location card.

  2. Select Edit.

  3. Update the name.

  4. Click Save.

The change takes effect immediately and appears in all future behavior setup and ABC data collection. Existing student records using the old location name are not affected.

Archive a Location

  1. Open the ellipses menu on any location card.

  2. Select Archive to remove a location from the active dropdown list.

Archived locations no longer appear as options when setting up behaviors or recording ABC data, but they're preserved in your library and can be reactivated later if needed.

Historical behavior and ABC data that used the archived location remains intact and searchable.

Delete a Location

  1. Open the ellipses menu on any location card.

  2. Select Delete to permanently remove a location from your District Library.

A confirmation prompt will appear before deletion completes. Once deleted, the location cannot be recovered.

All historical behavior and ABC data using the deleted location is preserved and remains searchable, even though the location no longer appears in dropdown menus.
