How to Archive and Restore a Student

Steps to archive and restore students in LiftEd.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Users (District and School Admins) can archive and restore student records directly from the Manage → Students page. Archiving helps keep the active student list organized while still allowing access to student information when needed.

How to Archive a Student

Archiving removes a student from the active student list but does not delete their data.

To archive a student:

  1. Go to Manage → Students.

  2. Find the student you want to archive.

  3. Click the three-dots (…) menu next to their name.

  4. Select Archive.

The student will be moved out of the active list and placed in archived status.

How to View Archived Students

To view archived students:

  1. Go to Manage → Students.

  2. Turn the Show Active Only toggle OFF.

  3. Default toggle ON shows only active student list.

Archived students will now appear in the list along with active students with greyed out.

How to Restore an Archived Student

Restoring reactivates a student and places them back into the active student list.

Archived students appear greyed out in the list.

To restore a student:

  1. Turn Show Active Only OFF to display archived students.

  2. Locate the greyed-out archived student.

  3. Click the three-dots (…) menu next to their name.

  4. Select Restore.

The student will return to active status and appear again when the toggle is ON.
