The data collection module for Partial Interval, Whole Interval, and Momentary Time Sampling in a Behavior Tracking Session have the same look and controls.
Start a behavior tracking session by following these instructions
Select a student and a student's
Partial Interval Behavior
Whole Interval Behavior
Momentary Time Sampling Behavior
Click Start to begin tracking.
The observation period timer starts
The first interval is highlighted in light blue and the interval timer section has red font with a dot and Active label, indicating the interval is active
The Time Remaining for the observation period is displayed at the top right, showing the countdown until the observation period
The total number of intervals set for tracking is displayed at the top left.
Recording Behavior Data:
Each interval is displayed in sequence (e.g., 1, 2, 3)
Use the Check button to mark when the behavior occurred, or the X button if it did not occur:
Momentary Time Sampling: Record if the behavior was observed at the end of the interval.
Whole Interval: Record if the behavior occurred for the entire duration of the interval.
Partial Interval: Record if the behavior occurred at any point during the interval.
Click Skip to exclude an interval from both the graphed data and the total observation time
Click Undo to unskip the interval and allow data entry.
Click the Location icon to select/add a location for the data collection session, just like other behaviors.
Click the Calendar icon to select the date for which data is being collected. By default, today's date is pre-selected.
Use the "Write a Note..." field at the bottom to enter any additional observations or context related to the behavior tracking session.
The Total Percentage at the top left displays the percentage of intervals in which the behavior was recorded.
Click the Pencil icon to manually enter a percentage representing the total recorded intervals where the behavior occurred.
The observation period will end the moment when the manual override is executed
Click "Save & End Observation" button to save the data.
Click Cancel to discard the session.
If the observation period ends but data is not saved by clicking "Save & End Observation," a red counter in a circle appears on the corner of the selected student’s name, indicating the number of unsaved behavior data entries that need to be saved.
Notifications:
A red counter in a circle appears on the corner of the selected student’s name until the session is saved.
Additional notifications for interval behavior tracking are available and can be managed by following these instructions
