The Momentary Time Sampling Behavior Graph displays data based on whether a behavior was observed at the end of each interval. This helps track behavior occurrences at specific moments during an observation session.
Select a Momentary Time Sampling Behavior at the bottom of the graph
X-axis (horizontal): Represents dates of observation
Y-axis (left vertical) – Percentage (%)
Shows the percentage of intervals where the behavior was recorded at the end of the interval.
Y-axis (right vertical) – Observation Period
Represents the total duration of the observation period in hours, minutes, and seconds.
Bars: Represent the percentage of intervals in which the behavior was recorded. If multiple instances of the behavior are recorded within a day, the bar displayed on the graph reflects the average percentage for that day.
Dashed horizontal line (Avg.): Displays the average percentage of recorded intervals over the selected timeframe.
Observation Period (Square Box) : Represent the observation period, indicating how long the behavior was observed.
If multiple instances of the behavior are recorded within a day, the square box displayed on the graph reflects the cumulative duration for that day.
Click on a bar (not the square box scatter plot) to view details, including:
Behavior name
Date and time of the observation
Observation Period (right Y-axis)
Percentage of recorded intervals (left Y-axis)
Data collector’s name
Location (if applicable)
If data is collected multiple times in a day, use the <> navigation arrows to switch between entries for that day.
Click Edit to update details such as date, percentage of intervals, observation period duration, or location, then click Save to update.
Click Delete to remove a recorded behavior and confirm the deletion when prompted.
Please note, only the user who originally tracked the data can delete it.
